Terms of Use
Last updated: 4 November 2026
About these terms
These terms apply to the Magen Alert website (magenalert.com) and the Magen Alert app (together, "Magen Alert"). By using Magen Alert you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
What Magen Alert is
Magen Alert is a free, independent information service. It brings together safety alerts, official travel advice and news reports about the security climate for Jewish communities and Israeli travellers outside Israel, and shows them on maps, place pages and optional notifications. Magen Alert is not affiliated with any government, police force or security organisation.
Information only
Everything on Magen Alert is general information. It is not security, legal, medical or travel advice and does not replace your own judgement. Decisions about where to go and how to stay safe are yours. Always follow the instructions of local authorities, police, your government's official travel advice and your community's security organisations.
Not an emergency service
Magen Alert does not contact emergency services and cannot send help. In an emergency, call the local emergency number straight away (for example 112 in Europe, 911 in the USA and Canada, 999 in the UK or 000 in Australia).
Accuracy and coverage
We work hard to show reliable, current information, but we cannot guarantee that it is complete, accurate or up to date. Reports can be delayed, mislocated or later corrected, and some places or events may not be covered at all. "No reports" for a place does not mean it is safe. Safety levels are our own summary of the sources we monitor, not an official rating.
Automated processing
Magen Alert collects reports automatically and uses software, including AI tools, to summarise, translate, classify and place them on the map. Automated summaries and translations can contain mistakes. Where possible we link to the original source so you can check it.
Alerts and notifications
Location-based alerts and push notifications are optional and depend on your device, browser and network settings, so they may be delayed or not arrive at all. Do not rely on Magen Alert as your only source of warnings. You can turn notifications off or remove followed places at any time.
Third-party sources and links
Magen Alert links to and quotes news outlets, official advisories and other third-party sources. We are not responsible for their content, accuracy or availability, and their own terms apply when you visit them. Names and trademarks of sources belong to their owners.
Acceptable use
Please use Magen Alert lawfully and respectfully. Do not misuse the service, for example by attempting to disrupt it, gain unauthorised access, scrape it at scale, or use it to harass, threaten or target any person or group.
Our content
The Magen Alert name, logo, design and our own written content belong to Magen Alert. You may share links and short quotes with attribution for non-commercial purposes. Please do not copy or republish the service or its data in bulk without permission.
Limitation of liability
Magen Alert is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, Magen Alert is not liable for any loss, injury or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the service or its content, or from it being unavailable. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited by law.
Privacy
How we handle data is explained in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
Changes
We may update the service and these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using Magen Alert after a change, the updated terms apply.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, and the competent courts in Israel have jurisdiction, except where the law of your country of residence gives you rights that cannot be waived.
